Spring Birches

Fitted behind the sink in a new kitchen-diner, this 2m wide splashback has a big impact. Because my kiln is 1.5m wide, the piece was made in three carefully aligned sections, ensuring the joins blend seamlessly into the design.

For this version, I raised the horizon line so it matched the horizontal line of the surrounding cupboards, creating a strong connection between the artwork and the space it inhabits. The result is fresh, uplifting, and perfectly integrated into the kitchen.
